Trickery and deceit

This post was written on Monday, January 30th, 2006 around 5 PM.
I think I've discovered a way to boost my grade this semester. It's simple. Given my overwhelming desire to create worthwhile things, it's much easier to just not bother with hastily done assignments for the failing mark they deserve. But all ease, no A's. So instead of doing my part to make our struggling school systems better, I do this:

Find backpack.
Read syllabus. Look at clock. Repeat. Twice.
Scratch forehead. Find backpack. Again.
Look at clock.
Glare at clock.
Find pencil.
Read syllabus.
Mutter,
at clock.
Copy assignment onto top of paper.
But where is all my paper?
Find paper.
Copy assignment onto top of paper.
Find textbook, correct page, and...pencil.
Despise passionately the passing of time.
Copy

down

first

Huh?
Find myself.
Scratch back of head.
Do first problem,
well.
Do second problem.
Glance at clock, startled.
Quicklydo half ofthirdproblem.

Grab banana, leave.

Whenever I turn these assignments in, I hope deep down inside that I have forgotten to sign my name to them. When the paper comes back (to me) with a few points on top, I feel shame for getting away with it. This makes me want to do better the next, but time.... Who wins? I'm trying not to keep score.
